Waste Removal Team – Day of Caring Operations Crew

We are looking for a team of strong volunteers, armed with a truck (required) & trailer (preferrable) who can assist with the removal of filled garbage bags, yard waste bags, and possibly scrap metal. Garbage can go to one of three KIMCO bins we will have stationed around Kingston, yard waste can go to the Kingston Area Recycling Centre, and scrap metal can be dropped off at Kimco’s free metal drop-off. Two people per vehicle is recommended.

Teams of two per volunteer vehicle
Visit most of the Day of Caring sites to collect garbage, yard waste or scrap metal
Later start to the day, but runs later in the day
Supplies will be provided
Mileage can be expensed through United Way KFL&A

Heavy Lifting may be required, work in teams.

United Way of KFL&A would like to acknowledge this traditional territory’s longer existence and its significance for the Indigenous people who lived and continue to live on Turtle Island.

We are situated on traditional Anishinaabe, Haudenosaunee and Huron-Wendat land. There are Métis and other non-status First People from many Indigenous Nations present in our community today. This acknowledgement symbolizes the United Way KFL&A’s first step, of many, along this path toward Indigenous reconciliation, in a respectful manner.
